•Region Programs – Build out regions around energy transition focusing on economic zones including talent pipeline, companies, universities, and government. Regions collaborate with shared content, translate and return new ideas and opportunities.
•Energy System Analysis – create a shared curriculum and set of practices for assessing new design options for emission reduction projects. Projects executed locally with shared content as appropriate, integrate with shared data system. Shared content can be used locally for projects and other analyses.
•Energy System Projects – local organizations identify challenges for energy transition, sponsor project teams to evaluate alternatives … use as part of education combining acquiring skills with application on defined projects.
•Student Internship programs – students with background for companies can take on internship programs to gain further experience. Bring new thinking and tools to companies to address company priority problems. Internship programs can lead to future full time positions.
•Graduate student internship programs – same as undergraduate with graduate students working at companies. Ideally in area of current research interest. Bring idea to the company and then return to the university with needs of the market. Use to build out more connected university research with market need to provide use-inspired priorities.
•Breakthrough innovation – map out all basic research programs and results. Make accessible on a user basis not just a technical basis. Create new ideation models for integrating use-inspired need with breakthrough discovery. Generate new programs, companies, or other initiatives combing market and basic science breakthrough.
•Broad based learning and innovation – connect with all other backgrounds and functional areas to be part of the overall design and trade-offs for energy system design including policy, outreach, communication. Build real-time measures and reporting for engaging all and seeking progress as well as new opportunity.
•Build a shared funding model to combine public, private, and philanthropy. Generate streamlined funding request and reporting practices to focus on value creation with minimum overhead required. Learn from and adopt existing shared / public access partnerships.
